Ratna Viswanathan

Ratna is a former civil servant from the 1987 batch of the Indian Audit and Accounts Service, where she worked across various departments such as audit, defence and Prasar Bharati. She gave up a highly coveted career in the Civil Services to join the development sector. Prior to joining Reach to Teach, she has held leadership roles at Oxfam India, VSO, MFIN, UNEP and UNDP. She also serves as an Independent Woman Director on Boards of several companies and is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Reach to Teach.
Deeply passionate about making learning a joyful experience for students by fostering teacher-agency, Ratna believes in learning out of curiosity and competing with oneself to achieve one’s own potential. She seeks to work from within the existing education system to create an environment that enthuses key stakeholders in a child’s life. Ratna believes learning happens when it is supported by an enabling environment.

Arun Kapur
Director
Arun is an educator with several decades of experience in the private and public education sphere. Since 2008, Arun has been working with the Druk Gyalpo's Institute in Bhutan, a project of His Majesty, the King of Bhutan.
He is currently the Director of the school. He serves on the Boards of many leading schools in India including The Doon School, The Scindia School, and Pallavan School. He is the founding director of Vasant Valley School, New Delhi. Additionally, Arun is the founder and Chairman of Ritinjali, an NGO, set up in 1995 for community development among marginalised societies in India.
The Five Areas of Development curriculum conceptualised by him has been recognised as one of the 100 most inspiring global educational innovations for five consecutive years since 2017 by HundrED, Finland.
Peter is a chartered accountant with over 30 years of experience working in financial and operational management for international businesses. Prior to joining Reach to Teach in 2013, Peter worked at two leading international strategy consulting companies. He was part of the senior financial team at Bain & Company and was the Finance Director at Monitor Company responsible for much of their international operations outside of North America.

In a career spanning over two decades, Shalini has essayed several roles in the field of education – as a practitioner, researcher, course developer, and an innovator. She believes her role as an educationist lies in facilitating this learning through strategic, equitable and systemic ways. Before joining Reach to Teach, Shalini worked across various organisations in in leadership positions, including STiR India, Adhyayan Quality Education Foundation and Azim Premji University. She has also been a part of various government and industry expert forums and committees.
Shalini is a Ph.D. in Development Studies and has also participated in the Inquiry into the Stanford University Teacher Education Program (iSTEP). She has a penchant for jigsaw puzzles and enjoys travelling and baking.

At RTT, Bimlesh leads Programme Management & Operations function and supervises the state programmes in Gujarat and Odisha. With RTT since 2017, he had earlier led the education operations of the former Education and Community Programme (ECP) and managed the Teacher and Head Teacher Development programmes.
Prior to RTT, he was a Management Consultant for 13+ years and worked in the areas of business transformation, supply chain planning and optimization, and strategic cost reduction. He holds an MBA in Supply Chain and Operations Management from NITIE, Mumbai and has a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering from BIT, Sindri.

Vijay Chibber
Director
Vijay is a former civil servant from the 1978 batch of Manipur-Tripura cadre of Indian Administrative Services (IAS). In a distinguished career spanning over 37 years, he has held various posts in the state and central governments across key sectors. He has held critical advisory roles with leading corporates in the country and has been Advisor to the Chief Minister of Tripura.
Currently, Vijay is the Director-General of Electric Power Transmission Association (EPTA).
Manoranjan Nayak
Executive Director
Manoranjan comes with over 15 years of experience in the non-profit sector. He holds a Masters degree in Public Policy from ICFAI University and a Masters in Social Work from Utkal University, Bhubaneswar. Manoranjan has diverse and rich experience in designing and managing large-scale operations, developing programme strategies, designing sustainable community-based interventions, building teams, managing NGOs and grants, and liaising with government stakeholders and donors.
Since 2015, Manoranjan has been associated with Reach to Teach and is closely involved in developing programme strategies and expanding Reach to Teach Foundation's work in the Northeast India. Prior to Reach to Teach, Manoranjan worked with Naandi Foundation for over 8 years, managing versatile projects such as Nanhi Kali, a joint initiative with K.C. Mahindra Education Trust, Project Ensuring Children Learn, and Project Bachpan, amongst others, in various capacities.
